Aluminum
Aluminum is the most abundant of the metals. Aluminum is non-magnetic, non-sparking, white in color and light in weight. It must be free of any other contaminants including: magnetic or non-magnetic metal, insulation, rubber, plastic etc.
Aluminum Extrusion Bare/Painted
*5% contaminant*
Typically found in window framing, door enclosures, thresholds and ladders. Bare material is valued more than painted.
Aluminum MLC
MLC is the initials for mixed low copper. This Aluminum is most often described as a shiny, sheet- like appearance, free of any foreign elements including paint.
Painted Siding
Aluminum that is used for siding including actual siding, and guttering.
Aluminum Sheet
This is a broad category can include but is not limited to mixed, light, thin or painted aluminum
Aluminum Cast
Cast aluminum can be produced using several different casting processes that include sand, permanent mold, die, lost foam, or squeeze. Common products will be found with engine parts, transmissions as well as other not so common products. Cast can be bought as clean cast aluminum as long as all foreign material has been removed.
Aluminum Dirty
This category is for almost all alloys of sheet aluminum that contain a small amount of foreign element. Common material would be sheet aluminum that may have screws, nails or a small amount of plastic. Including lawn chairs, rain gutter, siding and other sheet aluminum products.
Aluminum Breakage
Breakage is aluminum containing more foreign material than Dirty Aluminum. This item is commonly found with aluminum engines and transmission parts but also used in other products such lawn chairs and screen doors
Litho Sheets
This category is for almost all alloys of sheet aluminum that contain a small amount of foreign element. Common material would be sheet aluminum that may have screws, nails or a small amount of plastic. Including lawn chairs, rain gutter, siding and other sheet aluminum products.
Aluminum Radiators Clean/Dirty
Breakage is aluminum containing more foreign material than Dirty Aluminum. This item is commonly found with aluminum engines and transmission parts but also used in other products such lawn chairs and screen doors
Aluminum/Chrome Wheels
The wheels found on most modern cars and trucks are aluminum.
Clean wheels are of higher value.
Clean meaning free of plastic, wheel weights, stems, and steel enforcement inserts located in the lug holes
Chrome wheels can be identified by a magnetic drag, are of less value due to the chrome contamination.
ALUMINUM WIRE VARIATIONS
Breakage is aluminum containing more foreign material than Dirty Aluminum. This item is commonly found with aluminum engines and transmission parts but also used in other products such lawn chairs and screen doors
Aluminum ACSR Wire
ACSR (Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced) conductor is used for river crossings, overhead and ground wire installations. This wire consists of a single steel wire surrounded by aluminum wire. Variations including 6:1 and 7:1 with or without insulation.
Aluminum Neoprene Wire
Insulated aluminum wire similar to ACSR without the steel wire. It is produced in different sizes.
